EMS IMPLEMENTATION
Key to the effective management of environmental issues is to know why you are doing it. Keeping track of a single set of motives might be straightforward, but keeping track of ever changing environmental expectations from legislation, corporate standards and specific stakeholders is quite a challenge. An additional challenge is presented by the need to keep track of the management decisions and actions that have followed from these expectations.
This page suggest a set of documents designed to provide single point access to all information relating to the management of environmental issues, while providing accessible overviews of the management strategies of each environmental issue, their drivers and the associated targets, programs and tasks.
In addition, the approach allocates the same space to the risk communication side of environmental management as it does to the impact reduction side, making it possible to track actions outside the remit of ISO-14001 type environmental managements systems, and thereby making the whole system more intuitive and more effective.
